Scientific status
The project studies evolving relational graphs under local stochastic update rules. The working discipline is to separate algebraic/formal claims, generator artifacts, scoring artifacts and actual dynamical outcomes. Heuristic collision labels are not treated as particles, and long-lived local persistence is not treated as universal emergent spacetime.
The earlier defect/response track established nontrivial local interactions but not particles. The current architecture track records exact event dependencies. v16h retired a clock/depth common-geometry reading by validating scheduler total rate as the mechanism. v16i through v16m then isolated and freshly replicated an open causal-interval spectrum contrast under a strict degree/depth/age null.
v16o showed that a concrete-resource-conflict edge-color null was structurally immobile. v16p and v16q replaced it with a coarser event-footprint rule and qualified that sampler without inspecting spectra. v16r retained the contrast posthoc, and v16s replicated it on six new histories with the footprint null selected before generation. The v16s median effect ratio was 11.999282; all six primary runs had empirical p = 1/33.
All v16s tail-mass deltas were negative. The result is therefore a full-spectrum contrast, not evidence for excess large intervals.
v16t then tested the footprint-null procedure without computing any source spectrum or observed-effect metric. All frozen comparisons passed, but the required realized-effort audit found that direct short/reference/long averaged 993/1005/998 accepted swaps while staged averaged 2023. The frozen pass is therefore a center-stability diagnostic; it does not separately establish chain-length or path-segmentation stability.
v16u repaired that design effect-blind. All 384/384 null outputs passed integrity; direct +2K and staged +K+K used identical total accepted swaps after the same first K prefix in 96/96. Exact-length stability passed 18/18 with maximum center-shift ratio 0.666516; matched-path stability passed 6/6 with maximum ratio 0.180595 against the frozen limit 2.0.
v16v then used a separate global b-matching construction. All 48/48 endpoints preserved exact degree, depth, age-bin, event-footprint and per-child slot constraints. Every source produced 8/8 distinct endpoints, with minimum changed-edge fraction between 0.574426 and 0.630611. This establishes finite construction feasibility and diversity, not a representative probability distribution.
v16w attempted to qualify that family without computing source spectra or effect metrics. All 288/288 endpoints passed structural integrity, semantic role relabel passed 24/24, every source had unique fraction 1.000, and half-batch centers passed 36/36. Exact replay was 23/24, candidate-column covariance only 8/24, and objective sensitivity only 15/36. The global procedure is therefore not qualified.
Across all six sources, source-edge fraction, concrete resource-conflict fraction, and within-ensemble pairwise distance shifted materially between source-retention minimization and pure random edge priority. This is evidence of null-procedure dependence, not evidence about the source spectrum.
v16x replaced floating priorities with deterministic integer min-cost flow under seeded random costs. All 192/192 endpoints passed integrity and effect exclusion, and all 24/24 replay/permutation/relabel checks passed. The residual-SCC audit also supplied alternating-cycle witnesses for globally variable source edges.
The exact concrete-conflict state space nevertheless collapsed: its maximum possible changed-edge fraction was only 0.000827 to 0.005827, far below the existing 0.10 floor. The retained coarse state space generated unique and widely separated endpoints, but only 2/6 sources passed the frozen diversity criterion because one globally variable edge appeared in every primary endpoint for four sources.
A digest-locked post-run audit combined both independent seed families. The top-edge inclusion rate remained above 0.95 for four of six sources, including two at 32/32. Every top edge still had an alternating-cycle removal witness, so the concentration is not a hidden forced-edge error. It may reflect finite structural asymmetry or the random-min-cost probability law; v16x does not distinguish those explanations.
v16y then compared that reference with a lazy degree-corrected 2x2 Metropolis chain on the same six coarse state spaces. All 192/192 chain endpoints passed integrity and effect exclusion, all 192/192 frozen reference endpoints replayed exactly, all 48/48 detailed-balance witnesses passed, all 6/6 representation checks passed, and all 24/24 finite mobility checks passed.
The candidate law nevertheless failed as a finite start-independent sampler. Center stability passed only 102/126; all 24 failures were start-family comparisons, while independent seed and early/late comparisons had no failures. Mean pairwise endpoint change was 0.422373 across starts versus 0.078443 and 0.078510 within the two start clouds. Concentration improved on 0/6 sources: the chain maximum inclusion rate was 1.000 on all six and marginal binary entropy was lower than the v16x reference on all six.
v16z decomposed those same six start-pair differences into 2,139 exact alternating cycles. Whole-cycle coverage and sequential forward/reverse replay passed 6/6. The longest cycle changed 78 to 152 edges depending on the source. These are pair-specific algebraic witnesses, not a state-independent sampling law.
The bounded target-directed 2x2 search found 0/6 complete bridges. It reduced mismatch from 1,407-1,609 to 5-26, a 98.1521-99.6892% reduction, before every pair stopped as unresolved. The formal representation gate failed because raw SlotClass dictionary keys changed under semantic relabeling; a separate post-run audit preserved that formal status while showing concrete edge-level move-set covariance on 6/6. Neither result proves global connectivity, disconnection or mixing.
v17a then implemented a state-local, target-independent oriented-cycle proposal with an explicit reversed auxiliary and exact proposal ratio. Frozen-start replay passed 12/12, representation covariance passed 12/12, exact reverse support and pathwise detailed balance passed 84/84, and runtime passed 24/24. This validates the tested finite proposal algebra, not global irreducibility, mixing or uniform sampling.
The preregistered finite-movement gate failed 0/24. Across 512 steps, chains produced 31-61 valid proposals, accepted 15-39 cycles and visited 16-40 unique states, but final displacement was only 0.010632-0.030656 against the frozen 0.05 floor. The post-run diagnosis therefore identifies proposal inefficiency and low finite displacement, not a reversibility, representation or resource failure. No start/seed/time stability or source-spectrum effect was tested.
v17b replaced that random forward walk with an exact length-2-to-4 residual-cycle enumerator while preserving target independence, the distinguished reverse auxiliary and the exact lazy Metropolis ratio. Frozen starts and representation passed 12/12; reverse support and pathwise balance passed 36/36; valid-proposal yield improved against v17a in 24/24 matched chains with median ratio 2.898276.
Finite movement now passed 24/24: minimum valid proposals were 119, minimum accepted cycles 72, and minimum final displacement 0.051944. Resource qualification failed 12/24, with runtime 27.479260-270.449001 seconds and only 1/6 source cells passing every per-chain runtime check. This is a constructor-runtime failure, not a movement, reversibility, source-effect or physics result.
The disclosed post-run diagnosis finds that length-4 cycles account for 0.965295 of recorded completion mass, but recorded mass correlates weakly with runtime (r=0.125554) and omits failed branch visits. The implementation also duplicates forward enumeration and materializes all completions. The next gate must preserve the exact proposal law while replacing those costs with exact counting and uniform sampling.
v17c performed that implementation-only repair. Exact completion count/support parity passed 36/36, and all 24/24 frozen v17b transition traces and summaries replayed exactly. Representation passed 12/12; reverse support and pathwise detailed balance passed 36/36; movement and the 60-second resource bound both passed 24/24.
Runtime improved in every matched chain. The median v17c/v17b ratio was 0.161356 and maximum v17c chain runtime was 14.921836 seconds. This isolates the v17b failure as implementation cost on these finite spaces; it does not establish convergence, mixing, start independence or survival of the v16s effect. The next gate remains effect-blind finite start/seed/time stability.
v17d ran that stability gate for 2048 steps across both starts and two fresh seed families. Endpoint integrity passed 384/384, reversibility 36/36, representation 12/12, traversal/resource 24/24, residual-component centers 90/90, and proposal-footprint overlap 18/18.
Finite start independence did not qualify. Endpoint centers passed 85/108 and endpoint-distance agreement 12/18; every distance failure was the start-family contrast, with cross/within ratios 2.656766-2.906643. Seed and early/late distance comparisons passed 12/12. Source-edge/conflict gaps contracted from early to late in 12/12 cells, but direct cross-start distance was effectively flat. Exact residual-SCC profiles were identical across the eight representative endpoints within each source. This supports one bounded scale-response test, not a convergence, connectivity or physical claim.
v17e ran that bounded test with the same starts and random streams. All 192/192 baseline endpoints replayed v17d exactly before the chains continued to 4096 steps. Integrity passed 384/384, reversibility 36/36, representation 12/12, and traversal/resource 24/24; maximum runtime was 107.676262 seconds.
The primary material-contraction gate failed 0/6. Cross-start scale/baseline distance ratios were 0.978973-1.005348, against the frozen requirement <=0.90. A disclosed post-run diagnosis found within-start dispersion growth of 1.385802-1.470668 in all six sources. The lower cross/within ratio therefore reflects wider within-family clouds, not material cross-start convergence. Further step-budget scaling of the length-2-to-4 kernel is retired; the next effect-blind gate must change the move class.
v17f made that move-class change with a 50/50 mixture of the qualified length-2-to-4 kernel and a fixed length-5, batch-guided bounded-search proposal. Frozen starts and integrity passed 12/12 and 24/24; reverse/batch/one-step-novelty witnesses and representation each passed 12/12; finite length-5 exercise and resource passed 24/24. Every formal chain accepted at least 7 length-5 moves, and maximum chain runtime was 22.681378 seconds.
The formal movement gate nevertheless failed 15/24. Eleven of 720 valid length-5 raw auxiliaries lacked reverse support under the frozen 20,000-state witness search and were correctly rejected with no state change. A descriptive exact replay passed 24/24, found all eleven explicit reverse paths structurally valid, and found witness-budget exhaustion in all eleven; a diagnostic 10x cap recovered nine. The frozen failure stands. The next gate is a reverse-closure-filter repair with exact accepted-transition and endpoint parity, not a larger budget or a start-memory test.
v17g performed that repair under the same six spaces, starts, seeds, raw generator, 50/50 mixture and 1,024-step budget. A length-5 raw auxiliary whose explicitly mapped reverse was unsupported under the same 20,000-state bounded law became a self-loop before valid-proposal accounting. Raw generation and event reclassification matched v17f on 24,576/24,576 rows, and the filter identified exactly the same 11 auxiliaries.
Accepted-transition and final-endpoint parity passed 24/24; retained runtime reverse support passed 24/24; pathwise witnesses and representation passed 12/12; movement and resource passed 24/24. Minimum retained valid proposals were 130, minimum accepted length-5 cycles 7, and maximum runtime 20.456393 seconds. The formal status is v17g_reverse_closed_length5_move_qualified. Zero unsupported retained proposals is partly definitional after filtering; the nontrivial evidence is exact raw/filter identity, retained support, balance/representation and exact accepted-dynamics parity. The next gate tests start memory at matched accepted edge-work without source spectra or effects.
v17h then compared that expanded kernel with the qualified old length-2-to-4 kernel at exactly 192 accepted removed-edge units in each of 48 chains. Exact work and endpoint integrity, retained reverse support, movement and resource passed 48/48; all 24/24 expanded chains exercised length-5 moves. Source spectra and observed effects remained closed.
The preregistered material cross-start reduction failed 0/6. Expanded/old median cross-start-distance ratios were 0.980433-1.013939, with median 1.003301; only directional improvement occurred in 3/6. The symmetric exact-work stopping rule may add a small finite terminal-conditioning bias. The result retires this fixed 50/50 length-5 expansion as a uniform start-memory remedy. It does not establish disconnection, failed mixing, absence of a source effect, or failure of all larger moves. The next effect-blind design targets direct cross-start accessibility with a larger algebraically declared move.
v17i then used the exact v16z pair-specific whole-cycle decompositions as an engineered accessibility positive control. The six bases contained 343-384 disjoint cycles. A single all-cycle block mapped each frozen start to the other in both directions on 6/6 sources; complement-coupled fair masks gave exact endpoint identity 96/96, and 192/192 independent fair-mask endpoints preserved integrity.
Finite cross/within median-distance ratios were 0.986207-1.004213, passing the frozen 0.85-1.15 positive-control interval on 6/6. Thus the distance observable can display start independence when accessibility is built in exactly, making pure observable failure a weaker explanation for v17h. But the basis was derived from both starts and cannot serve as a state-independent proposal or source null. The next gate must construct an anchor-independent state-local long-cycle or compound-cycle law with exact reverse accounting.
v17j constructed that proposal without the pair basis. Each auxiliary block samples one exact state-local length-2-4 cycle, applies it, and samples a second from the intermediate state. The exact forward density is q1*q2; the reverse applies the mapped subcycle reverses in the opposite order. A symmetric filter retains only endpoints with at least 6 net changed edges, while filtered paths remain self-loops without proposal renormalization.
The formal effect-blind run retained 554 compound paths and accepted 152 across 24 chains. Exact round-trip, reverse involution, pathwise Metropolis balance and endpoint integrity passed 554/554; finite exercise, movement, endpoint and resource gates passed 24/24; representation covariance passed 12/12; and all 6/6 sources qualified. This establishes a finite anchor-independent proposal mechanism, not global connectivity, irreducibility, mixing, equilibrium, source effects or physics. The next gate is a separate effect-blind matched-work start-memory comparison.
v17k performed that comparison on the same six spaces, frozen starts and two fresh seed families. Each of 48 chains completed exactly 192 accepted gross removed-edge units. Qualified-law reuse, endpoint/work integrity, reverse/balance/work definition, movement, arm exercise and resource gates passed 48/48; source spectra and observed effects remained closed.
The compound law reduced cross-start distance directionally in 4/6, but the preregistered material reduction passed 0/6. Compound/expanded ratios were 0.991307-1.003176, median 0.995490, against the frozen requirement <=0.90 in all six. Compound used 28-30 accepted blocks versus 57-67 expanded single-cycle events at equal gross work; accepted net work was 190-192, so subcycle cancellation does not explain the result. This retires only the exact two-subcycle net-6 law as a uniform start-memory remedy. It does not establish disconnection, failed mixing, absent source effects or failure of all large moves.
The separate Bell methods report distinguishes Bell's theorem, testable Bell inequalities and finite observed quantum-correlation data. UniverseSimulation currently has no alternative local measurement settings, Bell trial protocol or entanglement observable; graph correlation is not relabeled as Bell evidence.
Interpretation boundary: the public data support a program of local defect, causal-structure and adversarial-null analysis. They do not establish physical energy or temperature, Lorentz invariance, quantum entanglement, particle species or a completed universe model.

Methods
The experiments use generated graph ensembles, matched controls, perturbation probes, defect genealogy, exact event-DAG reconstruction, source hashing, preregistered holdouts and explicit structural nulls. Reports and machine-readable CSVs are published together so claims can be checked against their originating rows.
v16j uses directed double-edge swaps that preserve event count, scheduler order, exact direct in/out-degree, exact causal depth and the global dyadic parent-age histogram. v16q adds source event family/write-namespace and target event family/read-namespace footprints. Every accepted holdout null had to be unique and change at least 10% of direct edges. Qualification establishes procedural completion and invariant preservation, not uniform or converged sampling.
v16t compares only null ensembles. Its source spectra and observed/null effect statistics are excluded by preregistration, preventing the stability threshold or path selection from being tuned against the positive v16s result.
v16u separates the 10% changed-edge burn-in from exact post-burn-in work. Its direct and staged 2K endpoints share the same K prefix and total accepted-swap effort but use different second-half RNG streams. This is a finite procedure-stability control, not proof of mixing or uniform sampling.
v16v reconstructs each complete DAG as a global bipartite b-matching between exact parent out-degree capacity and per-child slot demand. It uses no local switch trajectory and excludes source spectra and observed-effect metrics. Feasibility and endpoint diversity do not by themselves define or qualify a sampling distribution.
v16w tests the global procedure under exact replay, candidate-column permutation, semantic role relabeling, larger endpoint ensembles, finite batch-center comparison, and an alternative random-priority objective. The frozen failure means optimization endpoints must not be treated as samples from a canonical null distribution.
v16x uses canonical candidate ordering, seeded integer random costs and exact min-cost flow. The residual-SCC audit identifies globally forced edges and produces alternating-cycle witnesses. These controls establish finite algebraic freedom and representation covariance; they do not establish uniformity, maximum entropy, mixing, canonicality or a physical ensemble. The frozen concentration failure stops the procedure before source-spectrum inspection.
v16y uses a lazy, degree-corrected 2x2 Metropolis kernel. Its accepted transition probability is exactly symmetric for every tested neighbor pair, establishing detailed balance for a uniform target inside each 2x2-connected component. The frozen finite run does not establish global connectivity, convergence or mixing; its start dependence and concentration failure stop the procedure before source-spectrum inspection.
v16z represents the symmetric difference between two valid assignments as a balanced directed parent/slot graph and decomposes it into alternating cycles. Applying a full cycle preserves all declared matching demands. The bounded 2x2 search is target-directed and diagnostic only; it is not a Markov proposal and cannot qualify a stationary distribution.
v17a samples a distinguished oriented alternating-cycle auxiliary from the current assignment only, pairs it with a reversed auxiliary in the proposed state, and uses the exact lazy Metropolis-Hastings ratio. The tested paths satisfy detailed balance for a uniform target inside each proposal-connected component. The failed finite-movement gate means that algebraic correctness is not enough: this constructor is too inefficient under the frozen 512-step budget to justify stability, mixing or effect tests.
v17b preserves that probability contract but enumerates all bounded residual completions for a chosen start and exact length. It repairs finite movement under the unchanged budget, but the 12/24 resource pass blocks stability and source-effect tests. The next implementation may optimize exact counting and uniform sampling only; changing the law or relaxing the runtime threshold would be a new scientific design, not a performance repair.
v17c makes only that implementation change. It counts exact completion branches, selects one uniform depth-first rank, and reuses the forward count in the auxiliary probability. Exact v17b transition replay verifies that the tested dynamics did not change. Passing finite runtime qualifies a stability experiment, not global sampling, convergence or source-effect transfer.
v17d keeps that law and samples separated early/late windows from four-times-longer chains. Its residual SCCs and observed accepted-proposal footprints are diagnostics only. Exact residual-profile identity does not imply that the bounded-cycle Markov state graph is globally connected, and start-sensitive finite endpoints are not a qualified global null.
v17e matches the v17d random-stream prefix exactly and doubles the chain budget. Absolute cross-start distance remains effectively flat while within-start dispersion grows. This supports retiring scale growth of the tested length-2-to-4 move class. It does not prove disconnected components, failed convergence for every possible move class, or any source-spectrum effect.
v17f mixes that old kernel with a new length-5 auxiliary whose ordered first-edge batch is mapped bijectively under reversal. Metropolis rejection keeps the finite kernel probability-safe when raw reverse support is absent, but the frozen qualification required zero such events and therefore failed. The post-run repair target is to make the declared raw support reverse-closed under the same bounded law; one-step length novelty is not evidence of a new connected-component bridge.
v17g applies that deterministic support filter before valid-proposal accounting and makes no additional random draw. It preserves the raw generator and maps only the eleven known unsupported auxiliaries to self-loops, producing exact accepted-transition and endpoint parity with v17f. This qualifies the finite reverse-closed proposal implementation; because the accepted dynamics are unchanged, it contributes no new evidence about convergence, mixing, component connectivity or source effects.
v17h stops each old and expanded chain at exactly 192 accepted removed-edge units. A transition is rejected at the work boundary if it would overshoot the target or leave one unreachable unit. The rule is symmetric across arms and removes unequal realized work as the comparison confound, but it is finite terminal conditioning rather than stationary sampling and may introduce a small endpoint bias. The failed primary gate supports retiring only the tested fixed 50/50 length-5 expansion.
v17i samples independent fair bits over the frozen pair-derived whole-cycle basis. Complementing every bit when starting from the opposite endpoint gives exact coupled identity algebraically. This is a deliberately engineered positive control for endpoint generation and distance instrumentation. It is not an anchor-independent proposal, global null, convergence test or new physical observable.
The separate units-of-action hypothesis treats local realized edit work, carrier occupancy and boundary flux as candidate microscopic inputs. Until a local balance law and reproducible intensive fluctuation parameter are demonstrated, the correct terms are action density and change intensity, not physical energy or temperature.
RAG and corpus status
The repository contains a UniverseSimulation-specific FastAPI/pgvector RAG service with separate status, experiment, tool, argumentation and prompt sources. This public host publishes the current corpus documents and evidence artifacts as static, checksum-addressed files. It does not expose dynamic RAG routes. Dynamic retrieval freshness must be verified separately with token scope, shared rate limits, citation audit and corpus-freshness metadata.
